Common Issues & Solutions

Battery Drain Issues

Some users may experience higher than expected battery usage when using VoiceGuardAI.

Solution:

  1. Update to the latest version of the app, which includes battery optimization improvements
  2. In the app settings, enable "Power Saving Mode" which reduces background processing
  3. Close the app when not actively scanning calls
  4. Check for other apps running in the background that might be contributing to battery drain

Microphone Access Problems

VoiceGuardAI requires microphone permissions to access your voicemails when you share them for analysis.

Solution:

  1. Go to your device's Settings > Apps > VoiceGuardAI > Permissions
  2. Ensure microphone and storage access are enabled
  3. For iOS: Settings > Privacy > Microphone > Enable for VoiceGuardAI
  4. For Android: Settings > Apps > VoiceGuardAI > Permissions > Microphone & Storage > Allow
  5. Restart your device after changing permissions

False Positive Detections

Sometimes VoiceGuardAI may incorrectly flag legitimate voicemails as potential scams during your analysis.

Solution:

  1. Ensure the voicemail audio is clear and has minimal background noise
  2. Update to the latest version which includes improved detection algorithms
  3. Add frequent contacts to your "Trusted Contacts" list in the app settings
  4. Use the feedback feature to report false positives, which helps improve our detection system
  5. Report false positives through the app to help improve our AI model

App Crashes or Freezes

If the app becomes unresponsive or crashes unexpectedly during use.

Solution:

  1. Force close the app and restart it
  2. Update to the latest version from your app store
  3. Clear the app cache (Android: Settings > Apps > VoiceGuardAI > Storage > Clear Cache)
  4. Ensure your device has sufficient free storage space
  5. If problems persist, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app

Voicemail Upload Issues

Some users may experience difficulty when trying to upload voicemails for analysis.

Solution:

  1. Ensure your voicemail is saved in a compatible format (MP3, WAV, M4A, or AAC)
  2. Check that the voicemail file is not corrupted or too short (minimum 3 seconds)
  3. Verify you have a stable internet connection when uploading
  4. Make sure you have granted the app storage access permissions
  5. If upload fails, try saving the voicemail to your device first, then upload from your local storage
